Matt joined the High Impact team in 2022 with over 12 years of experience in managing merchant relationships and driving growth for Walmart and Sam's Club vendors. He graduated in 2011 from John Brown University with a degree in Business Administration and has focused his career on building compelling selling stories that solve customer and merchant pain points by leveraging category data and customer trends.
Matt began his career in data analytics and category management at large CPG companies (Del Monte Foods, Smuckers, and Chobani), then spent 5 years as a Buyer and Merchandising Director at Walmart with responsibility for delivering sales, profit, and inventory productivity results for the Sports Nutrition, Weight Management, and Adult Nutrition categories. His background has enabled him to provide influential perspective for vendors as they work together to optimize product assortments, advise on pricing strategies, discover operational efficiencies, create promotional plans, and navigate Walmart and Sam's Club systems to drive business results.
Matt is passionate about understanding Walmart customers and Sam's Club members. He takes pride in delivering exceptional service and building long-term partnerships between merchants and vendors.
Matt lives in Bentonville, Arkansas with his wife Johanna and their 3 daughters. Outside the office he loves playing music, weightlifting, and mountain biking.
